Smiles all around

This is Ashley and her lovely kids.  Ashley is not only a close friend but a coworker of mine.  From the first time I met Ashley I knew we just had to be friends. Her joy for life and her bubbly personality could make anyones bad day instantly change.  She has a heart of gold and has helped out those around her.  Ashley continues each and every day to teach me about life.  Her  positive attidude and unfaltering strength is contagious and empowers those around her to do the same.

Ashley was diagnosed with a very rare stage four cancer in December, yet through it all her postive outlook on life has not even waivered.  A week before the shoot I asked her daugher if she was practicing her smile for the photo shoot.  Her response "No I am just smiley, my classmates always ask me why I smile so much, mom always taught me to be thankful and happy for what is around me...so yeah I just smile".  Ashley gives her children (and all those around her) one of the greatest gifts, the gift of Happiness.

Ashley is starting a foundation for single mothers with severe illnesses.  There will be a benefit for her shortly and I will be posting more information on here as details are finalized.  If anyone would like to make a donation please contact me.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Above: My Sister and Pa

Above:  My ma would get us a special ornament every year, she would spend months finding the perfect one for each of us.  One of my favorite parts of the Christmas is setting up the tree.  Each ornament  represents something from that year. As I sort through the ornaments, floods of memories come back and I feel like a kid again...a kid who believes in Santa Clause. This is one of my favorites ornaments, every year I stare at it because it looks so real. A few times I even swore I saw the eyes move.

Above: An ornament she picked out when she was visiting her sister in California.  I used to smell the cottonball because I thought it smelled like summer.

Too much excitement.

Baileys new boots, she loves them, she told me so

New Years Resolution....lots of this!
